DNA Breakthrough Brings Justice in ‘Traumatizing’ Armed Invasion Case

After a lengthy five-month investigation, Maricopa police have apprehended a suspect connected to a disturbing daytime burglary in the Rancho El Dorado neighborhood. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Marcor Milton Farr, turned out to be the neighbor of the young girl traumatized during the incident.
The burglary took place around 1 p.m. on September 25, when Farr allegedly used a hammer to forcibly enter a residence located on Hillman Drive. Upon entering, he reportedly “ransacked” the home, stealing a jar of coins and a lockbox containing firearms, before fleeing and leaving his backpack behind, which contained rubber gloves.
Police were able to link Farr to the crime scene through DNA evidence found inside the discarded gloves, as well as through surveillance footage from a nearby home that captured a man matching his description around the time of the burglary. This evidence substantiated a connection between Farr and the crime, considering his close proximity to the victim’s home.
In a traffic stop executed by Maricopa police on Tuesday afternoon, Farr was arrested near Rancho El Dorado Parkway and Goles Drive. During this stop, officers discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
This burglary has left lasting effects on the family involved. A resident expressed their shock on the social media platform Nextdoor, emphasizing that such an event had never happened in the nearly 15 years they have lived in the area.
Farr has a troubled history with law enforcement, having been arrested earlier in January for drug possession and distribution offenses. The DNA backlog in Arizona’s state laboratory, which had 87 cases pending and an average processing time of 55 days, likely impacted the timeline of his arrest.
Currently, Farr is facing charges including burglary, firearm theft, and possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia in Pinal County Superior Court. Following his arrest, he spent a single day in the Pinal County jail before being released on bail. The date for his arraignment remains undisclosed.
