Camp Invention’s Summer STEM program coming to your area

Camp Invention, a well-known nonprofit summer enrichment initiative, is set to take place at two locations in 2025: North Valley Christian Academy from June 2 to June 6 and Annunciation Catholic School from June 16 to June 20.

This program, sponsored regionally by the Army Educational Outreach Program and supported by parent donations, is a product of the National Inventors Hall of Fame in collaboration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. It aims to engage children in grades K-6 by stimulating their natural curiosity and creativity, particularly in STEM fields.

Each year, Camp Invention offers a fresh curriculum inspired by iconic inventors inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame. The upcoming Discover program will encourage participants to trust their ideas and innovate through engaging hands-on activities.

Among the activities planned are:

In Control: Participants will embark on an innovative road trip, assembling a custom control panel while creating prototypes inspired by artificial intelligence.

Illusion Workshop: This segment introduces campers to the world of illusions and the technology behind them. They will learn to build devices that animate their drawings, using design and engineering skills.

Claw Arcade: Campers will construct their own Claw Arcade using cardboard, exploring the physics behind claw machines in a fun, hands-on manner.

Penguin Launch: In an eco-expedition, children will investigate penguins and the unique conditions of Antarctica, linking technology with exploration in both icy terrains and outer space. They will propel a research assistant penguin, Pengy, in various activities.

A parent whose child attended a recent session shared, “The camp’s focus on creativity, problem-solving, and innovation truly sparked his curiosity and imagination.”

Qualified local educators will facilitate every Camp Invention program, contributing to the experiences of around 140,000 students nationwide each year. Interested individuals can obtain more information and register at invent.org/camp.
