Discover How Fostering a Dog in Pima County Could Earn You Extra Cash!

PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. — The Pima Animal Care Center is seeking help from the community as it exceeds its capacity to care for dogs. Currently, the center is home to 523 dogs, surpassing its limit by 69. The goal is to reduce this number to 475 by November 3.

To facilitate this, the center is offering a stipend for individuals willing to foster dogs weighing 40 pounds or more for a minimum of two weeks. Those who participate may receive $5 per day, accumulating up to $70. A crate will be provided for the foster dog to ensure comfort.

This initiative runs from October 18 until November 3, aligning with the center’s goal to create more space for incoming strays and rescues. Monica Dangler, the center’s director, expressed optimism about the program. “I’m convinced that once people realize how rewarding fostering a pet can be, they’ll be hooked,” she remarked, highlighting the emotional benefits of helping an animal in need. Dangler acknowledged the partnerships that made this incentive feasible.

Residents of Pima County aged 18 and older with a valid local address are eligible for this fostering program. Additionally, the center is recruiting volunteers for short-term commitments, offering opportunities to take dogs out for a day or even overnight to alleviate stress from the shelter environment.
