Developer Unveils Ambitious Plans for Porter Road Shopping Complex

The east side of Maricopa is set to welcome new shopping experiences as Legacy Development Partners, based in Phoenix, has submitted preliminary plans for a shopping center. This proposed development, dubbed Legacy on Porter, will be located at the northeast corner of Porter and Applegate Roads, according to public records acquired by InMaricopa.

The shopping center will cover 6½ acres just north of Copa Flats, featuring a combination of retail and restaurant spaces. In total, the project is expected to consist of over 40,000 square feet of retail area, with around 4,700 square feet designated for dining establishments.

The developer describes the project as a contribution to the area’s mixed-use vision, promising to bring fresh commercial options to local residents. Earlier documents from 2023 hinted at the inclusion of a “low-cost neighborhood market,” though this element did not appear in the most recent submissions.
