'The driver got a little... caught up': Valley food delivery driver arrested, police finish delivery

A Chandler police sergeant ensured a customer didn’t go hungry, even if his delivery driver was arrested.

CHANDLER, Ariz. — The Chandler Police Department made sure one food delivery customer didn’t go hungry.

On June 19 around 2 p.m., police officers stopped a food delivery driver because he was driving a car with a license plate on it that had been reported stolen from out-of-state.

When the officers learned that the suspect was in the middle of delivering food, Sergeant Kyle Liggitt decided to finish the job and made sure “that food got to its destination,” Chandler police told 12News.

“Showing genuine commitment, a sergeant took over a delivery after the food delivery driver was arrested, ensuring the customer wasn’t left hungry,” Chandler police posted on “X,” formerly known as Twitter.
