Police: Man dead after shooting at north Phoenix apartment


PHOENIX — A man was killed in a shooting at a north Phoenix apartment complex late Monday night, prompting a swift police response. The incident occurred near 42nd Avenue and Bell Road shortly after 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found 28-year-old Lawrence Robinson suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders quickly transported him to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

In the aftermath, police identified a potential suspect, 25-year-old Correy Cooks Jr., who is now in custody. Homicide detectives are actively investigating the incident to gather more information surrounding the shooting.
