Deadly Crash Forces I-19 to a Standstill

NOGALES, Ariz. — A tragic accident on I-19 near Nogales has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The crash caused a temporary closure of the highway.

The incident unfolded Wednesday afternoon, close to State Route 289. According to officials from the Department of Public Safety, the vehicle’s driver apparently lost control, colliding with another car before overturning into the northbound lanes.

Unfortunately, both the driver and the passenger in the at-fault vehicle were ejected and perished at the scene. Remarkably, no injuries were reported from the occupants of the other vehicle involved.

The highway was shut down briefly but was reopened by Wednesday night. Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the deceased individuals.
