Crucial Week Ahead: Records Under Threat

Dry and unusually warm weather is set to continue across Arizona, affecting the Valley through Friday. After a warm start to the weekend, temperatures will see a slight increase on Sunday. In the lower desert, highs will reach the low 80s, while the High Country can expect temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
Specific forecasts indicate that Flagstaff will hit 63 degrees, and Phoenix will rise to 82, significantly above the normal high of 72 for this time of year.
The hottest day is projected for Wednesday when valley temperatures may approach 90 degrees. However, this unseasonably warm trend will be interrupted by a weather system approaching from the west coast late Friday. While the forecast remains dry for now, residents can expect increasing cloud cover, windy conditions, and a drop in temperatures.
For those wanting cooler weather, relief is anticipated next weekend when the Valley temperatures are expected to fall back into the 70s.
