A man from Rancho El Dorado, Jeremy Leinen, was arrested after multiple 911 calls reported suspicious activity late Friday night. Neighbors described Leinen peering into their homes, prompting authorities to investigate.

The first alert came shortly before midnight, with indications that the 40-year-old was not just looking through windows but also checking backyards. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered Leinen was on the run from previous legal troubles.

In December, a judge addressed ongoing charges against him. Just a week prior, new accusations of resisting arrest and criminal endangerment emerged. Leinen had recently pleaded guilty in Maricopa Municipal Court to charges related to a significant fraud attempt from 2019, valued at $17 million.

Leinen’s legal issues stemmed primarily from a case in Maricopa County Superior Court, dating back to summer 2023, which ultimately led to his arrest last weekend. In early September, he had engaged in a police chase, after which he agreed to enter a felony diversion program, including random drug tests and counseling.

Previous legal history revealed multiple drug-related convictions and noted mental health concerns. Despite receiving a deferred sentence, Leinen did not attend subsequent court dates, resulting in three outstanding bench warrants, the latest issued on November 8.

When police responded to the peeping reports just after midnight, they quickly recognized Leinen as their wanted suspect. Officers pursued him as he fled toward his residence, where he was tased and apprehended.

Leinen was subsequently booked into the Pinal County jail based on the outstanding warrants, raising questions about the future of his legal proceedings.
