Crash Investigation Underway at SR 347 as I-10 Blocks Key Intersection

UPDATE 3:30 p.m. Oct. 22, 2024: The Arizona Department of Transportation has reported that the crash at the intersection of State Route 347 and Interstate 10 has been cleared.

ORIGINAL STORY 2:28 p.m. Oct. 22, 2024: A multi-vehicle collision has occurred, blocking the southbound lanes of State Route 347 at Interstate 10. The Gila River Police Department is currently on the scene, as confirmed by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The extent of injuries and damage remains unclear at this moment. The incident was initially reported around 1:30 p.m., accompanied by a photo sent to InMaricopa, highlighting the presence of GRPD and a Gila River EMS ambulance.

Bart Graves, a spokesperson for the Arizona Department of Public Safety, has also confirmed GRPD’s involvement in the response. The impact on traffic flow is still under assessment.
