Head coach David Cosgrove, along with assistant coaches Nils Roth, Gabe Mendoza, and Conner Cosgrove, has been named the 2024 Junior College Men’s Division II West Region Staff of the Year.

The Aztecs demonstrated impressive performance this season, reaching the NJCAA Division II National Semifinal, where they narrowly lost in penalty kicks to Northeast Community College. In the ACCAC conference, the team recorded 15 wins, the most since 2018, and achieved a 13-game winning streak throughout the season. Playing at the West Campus Aztec Field, the Aztecs went undefeated with a home record of 10-0. They also shared the ACCAC Conference Championship title with Phoenix College and claimed their first Region I, Division II title since the 2020-21 season.

This season, the Aztecs had three players recognized as NJCAA Division II All-Americans, two named United Soccer Coaches All-Americans, and five selected for the All-ACCAC/Region I, Division II teams. Coach Cosgrove boasts an impressive 28-season record of 433 wins, 124 losses, and 40 draws.

Assistant coach Nils Roth, a key player on the 2018 NJCAA Division I National Championship team, is concluding his second season in his role. Gabe Mendoza was part of the coaching staff recognized as United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division I Staff of the Year in 2018. Conner Cosgrove, also in his second season as an assistant, contributed as a player on the 2021 NJCAA Division II National Championship team.
