Corbin Carroll ties MLB lead for home runs, but Diamondbacks lose to Giants, 10-6

SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Giants ended a four-game losing streak on Tuesday night, defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-6. Christian Koss made headlines by hitting a grand slam, marking his first home run in Major League Baseball.

Jung Hoo Lee contributed significantly with a three-run home run, while Willy Adames added a two-run shot to drive the team’s offense in the first game of a nine-game homestand. Giants pitcher Robbie Ray (6-0) earned his sixth win of the season, striking out nine over six innings while allowing three runs on seven hits.

Facing his former franchise for the first time, Ray showcased his abilities against the Diamondbacks, who had a strong performance from Corbin Carroll. Carroll hit his third home run in two days, bringing his season total to 14, which ties him for the major league lead.

The Diamondbacks threatened in the ninth inning, loading the bases with one out, but Camilo Doval quelled the rally by inducing a double play from Ketel Marte.

In the second inning, with two walks and a single already on the board, Koss’s grand slam shifted the game’s momentum firmly in the Giants’ direction. Pfaadt, who had been tied for the league lead in wins, surrendered four runs in four innings against the potent Giants lineup.

Koss’s impressive homer made him the 17th player in Giants history to hit a grand slam for his first career home run. The Giants will face the Diamondbacks again, with Arizona’s Eduardo Rodriguez (1-3, 6.86 ERA) slated to take on Jordan Hicks (1-4, 5.82) on Wednesday.
