Maricopa police have arrested 28-year-old Nibra White in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents that have resulted in over $26,000 worth of stolen merchandise from Walmart locations in Maricopa and Tucson. The arrest occurred on Monday at the Walmart situated on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, where White allegedly took more than $5,300 in electronics between July 31 and August 2.
In a probable cause statement, authorities described how White was observed engaging in suspicious behavior during three separate thefts in Maricopa, including filling shopping carts with electronics and leaving the store without paying. In one notable instance, he presented a fake receipt via his cell phone to evade detection as he exited the store on August 2.
Surveillance footage captured the incidents, which led to White’s quick identification; notably, he consistently wore the same outfit during these alleged crimes, reminiscent of a comic book villain. Furthermore, he is linked to at least nine additional shoplifting cases in Tucson, where the total value of stolen items exceeds $21,000. Similar to his earlier offenses, he reportedly produced fake receipts in several of these instances.
White is currently facing four felony charges for shoplifting, along with charges for using an altered receipt and employing a device to facilitate organized retail theft. He has been processed at the Pinal County jail and is being held on a $10,000 bond, with a preliminary hearing set for Tuesday.
