Copper Sky Pedal Boats Set to Launch Their Inaugural Journeys This Friday

The City of Maricopa is set to introduce pedal boat rides at Copper Sky, coinciding with this weekend’s Wild West Music Fest.

As part of an initiative to enhance family-friendly recreational activities, Copper Sky Fun Rentals, in collaboration with Boat Rentals of America, will unveil a fleet of whimsical pedal boats shaped like ducks, swans, and dragons.

This expansion addresses a growing demand from the community for more outdoor engagement. Mayor Nancy Smith expressed her enthusiasm, labeling the new offering as a significant enhancement for local families.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance the quality of life for our residents, and this new offering is a perfect example of that,” Smith noted in a recent press release. She emphasized the opportunity for people of all ages to come together, enjoy nature, and forge lasting memories.

The pedal boat rentals are part of a larger effort to transform Copper Sky into a prominent recreational hub. The Copper Sky Enhancement Plan is included in an $800,000 investment for the fiscal year 2025, which also encompasses outdoor seating, entertainment options, and facility improvements.

Boat rentals will launch from a newly constructed floating pier. Initially, the city announced plans for eight pedal boats, including six four-seaters and two two-seaters; however, the current number of boats set for operation has not yet been disclosed.

Clint Gregory, owner of Copper Sky Fun Rentals, remarked on the community’s enthusiasm for more entertainment options. “There’s so much exciting potential in this community,” he said. “Residents are hungry for more fun and entertainment, and I’m proud to be part of bringing that to life.”

The inaugural boat rides will commence on Friday, aligning with the first day of the Wild West Music Fest, which spans the entire weekend.

Rentals will be managed from a newly built kiosk located within the Copper Sky facility, adjacent to the lake. For further information regarding pricing, operating hours, and more, details are available through local resources.
