Cooler Temps Persist Amid Lingering Moisture

PHOENIX — Chances for showers and storms will persist over the area today with the focus across south-central Arizona, especially the higher terrain east and northeast of Phoenix. Cooler temperatures are also expected, but readings will still be near normal.
Rain chances will gradually diminish into the weekend with chances retreating to mainly over higher terrain areas by Saturday as drier air works into the region. Temperatures are forecast to heat back up again by the weekend with highs likely topping 110 degrees over the lower deserts.
