Center builds community for older residents

The Devonshire Senior Center in Phoenix, located at 2802 E. Devonshire Ave., is a hub for local seniors, operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center hosts a variety of programs designed to enrich the lives of older residents.

Monthly activities include daily classes, special luncheons, and educational trips. Seniors can enjoy lunch daily at the center for a nominal fee. Notably, the center also facilitates Memory Café sessions every Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. These gatherings create a supportive space for individuals experiencing memory loss and their caregivers, featuring engaging activities such as music and art projects, along with guest speakers and refreshments.

Enrollment grants access to all 15 senior centers across Phoenix. The annual membership fee is $20 for residents and $40 for non-residents. Interested individuals can learn more by contacting the Devonshire Senior Center at 602-262-7807 or by visiting the city’s Human Services website to explore the offerings at other senior centers.
