Collision on Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway Leaves One Injured
Pinal County Sheriff’s deputies and Maricopa police responded to a serious crash on the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway on the evening of November 20, 2024. The incident, which took place near Anderson Road around 5:20 p.m., involved two vehicles and resulted in at least one hospitalization.
According to Maricopa Police Department spokesperson Monica Williams, one driver was transported to a Valley hospital following the collision. Reports indicated that the situation required at least one driver to be extricated from a vehicle, as noted by the Phoenix Regional Dispatch Center.
As a result of the crash, the highway was temporarily closed in both directions at Anderson Road. Eastbound traffic was rerouted south via Anderson Road, while westbound traffic was diverted onto northbound Russel Road.
The specifics surrounding the cause of the accident remain unclear. Additionally, it has not been confirmed whether the driver of the second vehicle sustained any injuries. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for the reopening of the road.
