‘College’ Unveils Community-Focused Discussions
The city of Phoenix is set to host two educational events through its Neighborhood College initiative this September. This program, a collaborative effort among various city departments, aims to empower residents with practical skills and knowledge.
The first workshop, Paint Sprayer Training, offers participants an opportunity to learn valuable techniques to combat graffiti in their neighborhoods. Attendees will receive hands-on instruction on using a paint sprayer, which can be rented for free after the workshop. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Neighborhood Services Department West facility located at 3324 W Flower St.
Residents interested in attending can register by calling 602-534-4444 and selecting option 3.
Following this, the Block Watch Grant Boot Camp will take place on Thursday, September 12, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This training session is designed for new groups contemplating applying for a Block Watch Grant. Attendees will learn about eligibility, important criteria for applications, as well as tips on grant writing and the potential uses of Block Watch funds. This event will be conducted both online via Webex and in person at the Washington Activity Center, located at 2240 W. Citrus Way.
