College cops seek Maricopa ‘grinch’ who stole Christmas (lights)

Security camera footage has captured a theft at Central Arizona College’s Maricopa Campus on November 30, 2024. An unidentified suspect reportedly made off with six extension cords and light adapters intended for the campus’s Christmas lights display. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m., according to a recent post by the Central Arizona College Police Department (CACPD).

The footage reveals the suspect dressed in a beige hat, a hooded jean jacket, black pants, and white shoes. The stolen items were designated for decorating trees at the entrance between the A and B Buildings, an area known for its festive spirit during the holiday season. CACPD humorously dubbed the suspect “The Grinch” in light of the theft.

Authorities are urging local residents to assist in identifying the individual. Those with information can contact CACPD Officer Andrews at 520-494-5566 or 520-709-0131, hoping to restore the holiday cheer to the campus.
