Collaborate with Compassion: Building Connections Together
Joanie Rose, an outreach director and member of the Jewish community, advocates for stronger connections among diverse groups. She argues that legislating kindness is a hypocrisy that contradicts the values many hold dear.
According to Rose, respect and empathy shouldn’t require formal documentation; individuals must recognize their personal accountability in fostering a harmonious society. The principle of treating others as one would like to be treated is essential, especially in a world rife with racism and discrimination.
She emphasizes that actions speak louder than words, urging individuals to reflect on their contributions to society. “You are judged by what you do, not what you say,” she asserts.
Rose expresses her disappointment with those who profess moral values but act against them shortly thereafter. This disconnect, she believes, is prevalent and often unchallenged.
The challenge lies in finding common ground, but Rose notes that many are unwilling to collaborate or seek constructive resolutions. Instead, she perceives a troubling trend of power and greed influencing government priorities.
Finally, Rose calls for a collective effort toward kindness, urging individuals to strive for personal improvement and contribute positively to their communities.
