Climate Explorers: Dive into the Science of Weather at this STEM Event

Students from grades four through eight can dive into the captivating world of meteorology at the upcoming Girls in STEM event. The “Magnificent Meteorology” program is scheduled for August 10 and aims to uncover the science behind various weather phenomena through interactive experiences.
The event offers hands-on activities that explore Earth’s water cycle, allowing participants to build their own DIY weather stations. This initiative not only educates but also connects students with local STEM mentors while fostering peer engagement. A particular focus will be placed on understanding the effects of Arizona’s monsoon seasons, including flash flooding.
Taking place at the Arizona Science Center located at 600 E. Washington St., the event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The participation fee is $20 per child, which includes lunch. For further details, interested parties can call 602-716-2000. Tickets are also available for purchase online.
