City lists ‘Restaurant Row’ site for sale at $7.3 million

Maricopa city officials are actively seeking a landowner for 22⅓ acres of prime real estate, listed at $7.3 million, located at the southeast corner of Bowlin and White Parker Roads. This equates to about $326,700 per acre, a substantial investment for potential buyers.

Brady Murray from the Maricopa Real Estate Company indicated that the land has garnered attention since its listing began in early October. While he highlighted the area’s high growth potential, he refrained from disclosing specific inquiries or offers currently on the table.

The plot initially gained traction last year when former City Manager Rick Horst introduced plans for a “Restaurant Row” near City Hall. This proposal included popular East Valley dining options like Ghett Yo Taco and West Alley BBQ. Such an initiative aims to enhance the culinary landscape of the city.

In April, a developer from Georgia expressed interest in creating a multifamily housing project on a portion of the site, specifically one-third of the total land. Although formal plans for either the restaurant concept or the housing development have yet to materialize, interest in the area suggests that development may soon be on the horizon.

City spokesperson Monica Williams reiterated that the vision for a “Restaurant Row,” along with retail and affordable housing facilities, remains a priority for Maricopa’s future development strategy. City officials are eager to explore viable options that could transform the land into a vibrant community hub.
