Deadline for feedback on city's 'Plan Tucson 2025' extended until Jan. 31

The city of Tucson has announced an extension for public feedback on the preliminary draft of the Plan Tucson 2025 General Plan Update. The new deadline is set for January 31 at 5 p.m.

Plan Tucson 2025 aims to shape future growth and development in the city. It encompasses various aspects, including environmental strategies, cultural heritage, land use, transportation, parks, public safety, economic development, and housing, outlining the community’s vision and goals.

Community members can participate through several upcoming forums:

Monday, January 6, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Sentinel Building, located at 320 N. Commerce Park Loop. Registration is required.

Wednesday, January 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Donna Liggins Recreation Center, 2160 N. 6th Ave. Registration is also necessary.

Saturday, January 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Miller-Golf Links Library, 9640 E. Golf Links Rd., with prior registration.

Monday, January 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. will feature a virtual meeting on Zoom. Registration for this session is mandatory.

Lastly, on Thursday, January 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., the El Pueblo Activity Center, located at 101 W. Irvington Rd., will host another forum, requiring registration.

The city encourages residents to hold their own discussions through a format called “meeting-in-a-box.” Two virtual orientations for this initiative are planned: one on January 7 from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and another on January 8 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Printed materials for these home meetings will be available at each city councilperson’s ward office.

For those who prefer a self-paced approach, a preliminary draft of the plan is accessible online, allowing individuals to review it and submit feedback through online surveys.
