Circle K Unveils New Plans to Offer Homeowners Extra Breathing Space

Circle K has once again proposed a new gas station in Maricopa, this time focusing on a different location following homeowner opposition. The latest plan, according to records obtained by InMaricopa, places the gas station at the southwest corner of Smith-Enke and Porter Roads.
The proposed station includes 16 pumps and a 5,200-square-foot convenience store. Circle K intends to hire at least 12 employees for the establishment. This new location is a shift from the initial proposal on the north side of Smith-Enke, which faced resistance from local residents.
The shift to the new site means the gas station will be situated slightly farther from the concerned homeowners. Residents, however, remain wary. Earlier this year, a resident of The Lakes at Rancho El Dorado expressed intentions to petition against the gas station. He cited concerns about increased traffic, noise, crime, and potential health risks.
Tom Williams, a resident, emailed Maricopa City Council members in January, stating that he and several neighbors opposed the proposed location. Their primary worries centered on the negative impact the gas station could have on their community.
