Chaos on Highway 347: Early Morning 3-Car Rollover Leaves One Injured

A three-vehicle rollover crash occurred on State Route 347 involving a semi-truck early on August 26, 2024, resulting in minor injuries to one individual, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Troopers arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, which took place at approximately 3:52 a.m., just south of Riggs Road. The vehicles involved included an SUV, a passenger car, and a commercial truck, reported DPS spokesperson Raul Garcia Jr.
Authorities confirmed that the injured person was treated at the scene, and by 6 a.m., the roadway had been cleared for traffic.
James Shure, a witness, described the condition of one of the drivers as being “in and out of consciousness,” suggesting a possible connection to road rage as a contributing factor to the crash.
In a related incident, at least three more witnesses reported a second crash at the same location around 4:45 a.m. This event involved a hit-and-run, where a Honda Civic rear-ended a Jeep Compass. Police are currently investigating this subsequent accident.
