Chandler Woman Arrested for Sending Threatening Letters to Gilbert Home

Authorities in Gilbert, Arizona, have charged a Chandler woman in connection with a series of threatening letters sent to a local home. The Gilbert Police Department confirmed the arrest following the receipt of the communications between March 10 and March 18.
The disturbing letters prompted the victims to report the incidents to law enforcement on March 10, citing specific threats against them. The Criminal Intelligence Unit of the Gilbert Police Department initiated an investigation, collaborating with the United States Postal Inspection Service to identify the culprit.
During the investigative process, a second letter surfaced between March 10 and 18, which provided critical information leading to the suspect’s identification. On March 21, Shelby Trischler, a 34-year-old resident of Chandler, was taken into custody. Police revealed that Trischler is known to the victims.
Trischler faces multiple charges, including five counts each of stalking, threatening or intimidating, and disorderly conduct. Currently, she is held at the Maricopa County Jail as the investigation unfolds.
The Gilbert Police Department issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to community safety, underscoring the seriousness with which they treat all threats. They acknowledged the essential role of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in bringing the case to resolution.
