Chabad Havasu Unveils Revamped Synagogue to Celebrate Rosh Hashanah with the Jewish Community
Chabad of Lake Havasu City has recently remodeled its synagogue, marking a new chapter for the community. The Jewish congregation invites local residents to join in Rosh Hashanah services beginning Wednesday evening. Various services will be held, welcoming participants to celebrate the Jewish New Year.
Rabbi Mendel Super emphasizes the inclusivity of the events, encouraging all Jewish individuals in the area to attend. Rosh Hashanah extends over two days, concluding on Friday evening. Super explains that this period represents a moment of reflection and renewal for the Jewish community.
“People who might have been there many years ago will hopefully be pleasantly surprised to see that it’s had a major facelift,” noted Super. The renovations aim to rejuvenate the space and reinforce community bonds.
While the services are free, RSVP is recommended for attendees. Thursday and Friday morning services are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Following Thursday’s services, a communal lunch will be provided.
An outdoor gathering is also planned for Thursday evening under the iconic London Bridge. This event will welcome anyone who may have missed earlier services, featuring the ceremonial blowing of the shofar.
“I encourage all Jews, whether they’ve attended synagogue regularly or haven’t done so in years, to join us,” Super invited. He mentioned that last year, attendance for some holiday events reached around 50 participants, emphasizing the growing interest in community gatherings.
In light of recent events in Israel, Super emphasizes the importance of unity among Jewish people during this time of reflection. “Gathering with your community in faith is essential, especially now as we usher in a new year that we hope brings peace and safety for all,” he stated.
The schedule for the upcoming services includes a Wednesday session at 6 p.m., with Thursday and Friday morning services starting at 10 a.m. The special Tashlich and Shofar event is set to commence at 5:30 p.m. near the London Bridge stage. Chabad of Lake Havasu City is located at 116 Acoma Blvd. N., and reservations are highly encouraged for all attendees.
