Upcoming road paving projects in Cave Creek

The Town of Cave Creek Public Works Department has announced scheduled repaving for three roads beginning May 5. Crews will set up road restrictions during this period. Starting May 12, Red Dog Drive, Palo Verde Pass, and Chuckwalla Trail in the Red Dog Ranch community will undergo significant upgrades. The project involves milling the existing top layer and replacing it with a thicker pavement. While local traffic will have access, delays are expected. Completion is anticipated by May 20.

From May 21 to May 27, contractors will pulverize the existing asphalt on School House Road, which runs from East Cave Creek Road to just past the East Military Road intersection. They will mix the ground asphalt into the subgrade surface, followed by grading and compacting the material before paving.

Following this, from May 28 to June 6, East 32nd Street will undergo similar treatments, stretching from East Carefree Highway north to East Maddock Road.

For the latest updates on these projects, residents are encouraged to check the Town’s official website and social media.

The Town of Cave Creek has also declared Stage 1 Fire Restrictions effective until October 1, 2025, due to the elevated risk of wildfires. As summer heats up, the Fire Danger Level has been raised to “Very High.” Residents should stay informed through the Town’s website and social media pages for fire-related updates.

In other news, the Cave Creek Town Council has adjusted its meeting time to 5:00 p.m. beginning May 5. These meetings will now take place in the Town Council Chambers, moving from the previous 6:00 p.m. schedule. The Council meets on the first and third Mondays of each month.
