Town of Cave Creek Announces Community Grants Recipients

The Town of Cave Creek has announced the recipients of its annual Community Grants program during the January 7 Town Council meeting. This program allocates $40,000 in financial support, allowing non-profit organizations within the cave Creek and Desert Foothills areas to apply for grants of up to $10,000. Aimed at enhancing community health, safety, welfare, and culture, these grants play a vital role in bolstering local initiatives.

Mayor Robert Morris praised the dedication of local volunteers, stating, “I want to compliment the volunteers who are the glue that hold a lot of our community together. Volunteerism is really alive in our town.” His comments underline the spirit of community collaboration in Cave Creek.

A five-member Community Grants Committee evaluated the applications, comprising a Town Council member, two residents, a business leader, and a senior town staff member. Their recommendations were submitted to the Town Council for ultimate approval.

Vice Mayor Kathryn Royer expressed pride in the program, emphasizing its importance. “Thank you to the Council for supporting this project. It serves a lot of people in our community, and it’s a very wise use of our resources,” she remarked.

Organizations applying for the Community Grants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entities. They are required to demonstrate how their programs contribute to the health, safety, welfare, or cultural goals outlined in the town’s General Plan and Strategic Plan. Additionally, programs must have measurable objectives, a year of operational experience, and evidence of financial sustainability.
