Cave Creek Museum presents: “Black Mountain: A study in black & white”

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 2-4 PM, the Cave Creek Museum will present “Black Mountain: A Study in Black & White.”

Stephanie Bradley, a renowned guest speaker and museum member, will explore the intriguing geology of the Desert Foothills. She will discuss topics such as the true nature of the boulders at The Boulders, the reasons behind Black Mountain’s distinct coloration, and the distribution of saguaros. Attendees will also learn about the valuable minerals that attracted prospectors to the region. This interactive session aims to illuminate ancient geological wonders within the museum’s historic church.

Due to high demand, reservations are required. This event has reached standing-room-only capacity for the past five years. While museum members can attend for free, non-members must secure a $10 admission ticket. Registration is available at cavecreekmuseum.org. Please note that culture passes are not accepted for this event.

The Cave Creek Museum, established 54 years ago, is dedicated to preserving the artifacts of the Cave Creek Mining District as well as the cultural legacy of the Cave Creek/Carefree foothills area through education and research.
