The Cave Creek Museum, open from October through May, serves to preserve and educate the public about the rich history, culture, and legacy of the Cave Creek Mining District. Located at 6140 E. Skyline Drive, the museum showcases collections ranging from historic clothing to prehistory artifacts, offering a deep dive into the area’s past.
Jessica Bryza, a museum volunteer, spoke to the significance of the collections. “The museum’s collection represents a wide variety of treasures that give us a glimpse into the pioneers of the Town of Cave Creek,” she noted. Bryza spent the summer organizing the museum’s collections and was enthralled by the historical items she encountered.
She remarked, “As an emerging museum professional, my time at Cave Creek Museum was invaluable. The historic objects and archives illustrate the drastic changes from 1880 to 2024, proving to be a fascinating journey.”
Bryza encourages community involvement, describing the museum’s welcoming atmosphere. “Anyone interested in expanding their museum knowledge cannot make a mistake by choosing the Cave Creek Museum,” she added.
The museum seeks to enlighten both locals and visitors while promoting volunteerism and career opportunities in the museum field. In doing so, it continues to serve as a significant repository of the region’s history and cultural richness.
