Cause of Duke’s Roadhouse Blaze Remains a Mystery as Investigation Continues

On March 8, 2025, a fire broke out at Duke’s Roadhouse, sparking an investigation into its cause. Fire officials confirmed that there were no injuries reported from the incident.
Maricopa Fire Department spokesperson Monica Williams stated, “The cause remains undetermined at this time and is under investigation.”
The blaze originated from a debris fire located beneath the building’s northern patio. Fortunately, firefighters reported no structural damage to the establishment.
This incident poses a significant setback for Duke’s Roadhouse, a local venture inspired by Nashville’s The Stillery, which has been under development for over two years at the former A1 Pawn location in Maricopa’s historic district.
Prior to the fire, the honky-tonk recently submitted several new documents to the city, including blueprints and construction plans, signaling progress in its development.
City representatives remarked that the fire was quickly extinguished, detailing, “The crew is completing a thorough check of the building to ensure that the flames did not spread.”
The aftermath on March 9 revealed boarded-up doors and remnants of charred debris scattered across the patio area, including what appeared to be a burnt cart and paint cans.
This week has been particularly demanding for local firefighters, who responded to a series of incidents, including house, mobile home, and work truck fires in rapid succession.
