Car Plunges into Ditch After Crash Near Hotel

A two-vehicle crash occurred outside the La Quinta Inn at the intersection of John Wayne Parkway and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on May 6, 2025. Emergency crews responded shortly after the accident at approximately 12:30 p.m.

The collision involved a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee and a black Ford Fusion, as reported by Phoenix Regional Dispatch. A witness, who was turning into the hotel, observed the incident unfold.

Following the crash, the Ford sustained significant damage to its front driver’s side and ended up in a ditch at the bottom of a rocky hill. The Jeep remained on the roadway, its driver visibly shaken as he searched for his insurance details.

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. A pregnant woman and her fiancé, who were in the Ford, claimed they were not at fault for the collision. Firefighters on the scene evaluated the woman for any potential injuries.

The Jeep’s driver, recalling decades without an accident, expressed concern as authorities assessed the situation. Maricopa Fire Department Ladder 574 and an ambulance were dispatched; however, no road closures or significant traffic disruptions followed the incident.
