Campbell, Diaz, and Moses Maintain Strong Leads in Lake Havasu City Council Race

Votes from the recent Lake Havasu City election are still being counted, leaving the community in suspense over the final results. The three leading candidates—Nancy Campbell, David Diaz, and Cameron Moses—are waiting to see if they will secure seats on the City Council or face a runoff election in November.
According to the latest numbers released late Tuesday, Campbell leads with 6,775 votes (23.89%), followed by Diaz with 5,439 votes (19.18%), and Moses with 4,781 votes (16.86%). Morgan Braden is closely trailing with 4,537 votes (16%).
Wednesday morning, Lydia Durst from the Mohave County Recorder’s Office announced that no winners have yet been declared. Approximately 7,000 early ballots still need to be signature verified and received. The county aims to complete the count by Monday.
To win outright in the primary, a candidate must secure a majority of the votes. The threshold, currently set at 4,727 votes, is based on the vote tally divided by three open seats, further halved, and then one vote added. As it stands, Campbell, Diaz, and Moses meet this requirement, but this could change once all mail-in ballots are counted.
Campbell expressed cautious optimism, thanking her supporters and reflecting on her lead. “It’s an amazing feeling to be ahead in the polls,” she remarked, emphasizing her gratitude for the voters’ efforts.
Diaz also showed appreciation in a Facebook video, acknowledging the votes he received. “It will be an honor to serve as your Councilman. I commit to transparency, honor, and respect,” Diaz stated.
Teri Kay Parcells, who garnered 2,306 votes (8.13%), conceded gracefully on social media. She thanked her supporters and congratulated the frontrunners.
The final outcome remains uncertain, as election officials continue to count the remaining ballots. The community awaits the definitive results, which are expected by early next week.
