California Woman Strikes Plea Deal in Shocking Felony Shoplifting and Drug Case

A 36-year-old woman from Barstow, California, has agreed to enroll in substance abuse counseling and will serve a term of unsupervised probation following her arrest earlier this month on felony charges related to shoplifting and drug paraphernalia possession.
This development arises after Danielle L. Davis entered a plea agreement on September 20. She was apprehended six days prior at the Walmart in Lake Havasu City.
The incident occurred on September 14 when employees reported that Davis attempted to make a fraudulent return. Witnesses claim they saw her selecting merchandise from the store’s apparel section and then trying to return the items at the customer service desk.
Store asset protection staff confronted Davis, who allegedly confessed to the attempted theft. She claimed to have initially purchased the items and returned to use her original receipt to claim them again.
The total value of the merchandise involved was approximately $126.
Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene and took Davis into custody. During a subsequent search, police reportedly discovered a piece of foil in her back pocket, along with a straw and a small plastic bag suspected to contain fentanyl residue.
Court records indicate that Davis pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Under her plea deal, the felony shoplifting charge was dismissed by prosecutors.
