A bystander was injured in a stabbing incident while attempting to intervene in a fight at a popular entertainment venue in Surprise, Arizona, on Friday evening.

The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. at Uptown Alley on N. Litchfield Road, where police received reports of a stabbing. Authorities arrived on the scene to find that a struggle had erupted between two individuals.

As one participant of the fight fled, a bystander tried to stop them, resulting in the suspect stabbing the bystander before fleeing. Fortunately, the injured individual was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Law enforcement quickly apprehended the suspect, and police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community. The Surprise Criminal Investigations Unit detectives are currently handling the investigation.
