A significant brush fire broke out on the Gila River Indian Community south of Phoenix on Saturday afternoon, generating considerable smoke over the area. The fire, which spanned approximately 100 acres, prompted immediate evacuations to ensure public safety.

By 4:45 p.m., officials from the Gila River Fire Department indicated that the fire remained completely uncontained. Spokesperson Roberto Jackson stated that efforts to extinguish the blaze were ongoing as crews faced challenging conditions.

Authorities are urging residents nearby to stay alert and adhere to evacuation orders. The community’s safety remains the top priority as firefighting teams work relentlessly to bring the situation under control.
