Brothers Caught in Bold Bashas’ Heist: “F*ck Him Up!”

Two brothers were arrested Tuesday night in Maricopa after an unsuccessful grocery heist at Bashas’. The suspects, 22-year-old Clint A. Joaquin and his 19-year-old sibling Colton Joaquin, attempted to leave the store with approximately $600 worth of unpaid items.
The Maricopa Police Department reported that Clint faces multiple charges including resisting arrest, shoplifting, and threatening behavior. Colton has also been charged with shoplifting. Officers were alerted to the incident around 9:45 p.m. when store employees provided a description of the brothers and their vehicle.
An employee at Bashas’ revealed that the brothers pushed a cart filled with groceries out of the store. When confronted, Clint allegedly threatened the employee. The value of the stolen goods reportedly equates to around 775 glazed donuts.
Authorities located the Joaquins on John Wayne Parkway, where they attempted to evaded capture. While attempting to arrest Colton, Clint resisted commands and reached into his pockets, prompting officers to forcibly remove him from the vehicle.
During the altercation, Clint continued to resist, leading police to immobilize him on the ground. After both suspects were detained, a search of their vehicle revealed several open alcohol containers along with the stolen groceries.
Both brothers were booked into the Pinal County Jail. Clint’s past conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2021 influenced his current charges, potentially subjecting him to over four and a half years of imprisonment. In contrast, Colton may face six months behind bars.
