Broom-Wielding Woman Launches Soy Sauce Fury, Crashes Scooter into Man’s Home

A Maricopa woman, 31-year-old Trisha Chavez, was arrested late Tuesday night in connection with a bizarre assault involving a broom and her scooter. The incident occurred in Cobblestone Farms, sparking police intervention after a neighbor reported escalating aggression.
According to the Maricopa Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence on West Santa Fe Avenue around 10:30 p.m. The 911 call described a heated argument, which included sounds of a physical altercation. Witnesses claimed to have heard a woman yelling threats, followed by a slap.
The caller provided a description of Chavez, noting her blonde hair and outfit, before reporting that she left the scene on a scooter. Officers quickly located her nearby, where she allegedly confessed to assaulting a man with a broom. Chavez claimed she struck him until the broom broke, expressing frustration over a soy sauce spill.
Authorities noted visible injuries on the man’s left arm, corroborating his account that Chavez also attempted to hit him with her scooter. Instead, she crashed it into the front door of his home, causing damage.
Chavez admitted to the scooter collision and was subsequently taken into custody. She faces charges of assault and could potentially serve up to six months in jail if convicted, facing legal repercussions stemming from a night of chaos in her neighborhood.
