BREAKING: Sheriff Launches Investigation After One Confirmed Shooting

A shooting incident occurred near Maricopa early this morning, with the victim being treated at Exceptional Community Hospital, located at 19060 N. John Wayne Parkway. Emergency services were dispatched to the facility at 3:01 a.m., as indicated by dispatch call logs.

Reportedly, three police units arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. According to Monica Williams, a spokesperson for the Maricopa police, the individual suffered a gunshot wound to the foot. Initially, the investigation fell under the jurisdiction of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office since the incident took place outside of Maricopa’s purview.

At around 3:30 a.m., three units from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office were seen at the hospital to take over the investigation. As of now, inquiries have been made to PCSO for additional information.
