A mixed bag of rain, wind, snow and cooler temps!

PHOENIX — A storm system is approaching, promising a combination of wind and cooler temperatures for Monday. Residents are advised to brace for gusty winds, with speeds ranging from 25 to 30 mph, which could stir up dust and reduce visibility in some areas.

The Valley may also experience a slight chance of brief showers in the afternoon, but the primary impact will stem from the winds and cooler conditions. Afternoon highs are expected to reach only the mid to upper 60s.

In the mountainous regions, snowfall is predicted above 4,000 feet, with accumulations expected to exceed 5 inches at higher elevations. Forecasts detail specific snowfall amounts for various locations:

  • Grand Canyon North Rim: 4-6 inches
  • Arizona Snowbowl: 2-5 inches
  • Flagstaff: 1-3 inches
  • Williams: 1-2 inches
  • Window Rock: 1-2 inches
  • Pinetop: 1 inch
  • Prescott: 1 inch
  • Payson: Up to 1 inch

The storm system is expected to move out by Monday night, allowing for a return to sunny skies on Tuesday. A brief high-pressure ridge will facilitate a rise in temperatures, potentially reaching nearly 80 degrees by Wednesday, as another weather system approaches.

Looking ahead, the forecast indicates a continuation of active weather patterns, bringing the possibility of rain by Thursday into Friday. Residents are encouraged to stay informed as updates to the weather forecast become available.
