Brace for a Blustery Week: Rain, Wind, and a Chill in the Air!

Record heat gives way to Fall weather that is now here to stay.
PHOENIX — After experiencing a scorching summer, Arizonans can celebrate the end of triple-digit temperatures for the year. Saturday’s heat peaked at 100 degrees, marking it the 143rd instance this year that temperatures in Phoenix reached at least 100 degrees.
With a shift in the weather pattern, fall-like temperatures are anticipated this week. The Valley is expected to enjoy highs in the 70s and 80s, while areas in the high country will witness temperatures ranging from the 40s to 50s.
Attention is also focused on an incoming storm system that will bring rain and wind across the state. A wind advisory is currently in effect for most of northern Arizona from 11 a.m. Monday until 8 a.m. Tuesday, with winds gusting between 20-30 mph and reaching up to 45 mph in some areas. In the Valley, gusts could peak around 25 mph.
Rain is forecasted to arrive Monday night and continue into Tuesday morning, with potential showers reaching parts of the Valley by early Tuesday. Higher elevations above 7,000 feet may see light snowfall.
As Halloween approaches, the weather is expected to remain pleasantly warm. Valley temperatures are set to rebound to the lower 80s, while Flagstaff could reach around 60 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
