In a brazen early morning theft, a black Cadillac Escalade and a white Dodge Ram utility truck were captured on surveillance cameras stealing over 400 gallons of diesel fuel from Farmer’s Convenience Store in Hidden Valley. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, shocking the local community.
Owner Jack Sulaiman reported that the thieves accessed the pumps using 9-volt batteries to bypass security measures. They spent nearly 90 minutes siphoning diesel fuel valued at approximately $1,600 into a large tank in their vehicle. This theft not only resulted in a substantial loss of product but also inflicted damage on the fuel pumps, with repair costs estimated at an additional $1,500.
In response to this incident, Sulaiman, a Maricopa resident who recently reopened the restaurant in homage to his late father, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the suspects. “I don’t like being stolen from,” Sulaiman expressed. He emphasized the importance of community support, stating that his business operates on thin margins to serve the local area.
Sulaiman hopes the reward will incentivize local residents to come forward with any information that could help solve this crime. The community’s involvement could turn the tide in this troubling situation and restore a sense of security to a business that strives to give back.
