On August 7, 2024, at around 1:30 p.m., firefighter Connor Dignan joined a crew in response to a reported house fire on West Anne Lane in the Rancho El Dorado area. The Maricopa Fire and Medical Department (MFMD) quickly arrived on the scene, following reports of smoke and a strong odor emanating from inside the home.

Upon arrival, MFMD crews were informed of a potential fire at the 41000 block of West Anne Lane. “There doesn’t appear to be an active fire but crews are currently investigating,” stated MFMD spokesperson Monica Williams.

Firefighters examined the electrical breaker box on the side of the home, suspecting a possible electrical issue as the source of the smoke. The initial response included two firetrucks and a battalion chief to ensure thoroughness and safety. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the smoke.
