Biker’s Wild Escape Ends in Crash with Fire Truck, Rushed to Hospital

A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a collision involving a Maricopa Fire/Medical Department truck early this morning. This incident occurred while the rider was fleeing a police stop at the intersection of Smith-Enke Road and John Wayne Parkway, the Maricopa Police Department (MPD) confirmed.
The attempted traffic stop took place around 10:45 a.m. when an officer attempted to pull over the motorcycle. According to investigators, the motorcyclist accelerated south on John Wayne Parkway, ultimately crashing into the rear of the fire truck, which was stationary at a red light.
Firefighters on board the truck acted quickly, providing assistance to the rider until additional medical personnel arrived. The injured motorcyclist was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The identity and current condition of the rider remain undisclosed by law enforcement.
Fortunately, no firefighters or police officers sustained injuries in the incident, and the fire truck reportedly incurred only minor damage.
Detectives from the MPD are working to understand the reasons behind the rider’s decision to flee. At this time, there have been no announcements regarding potential citations or charges related to the incident.
