PHOENIX — A tragic incident occurred late Monday night involving a fatal collision between a bicyclist and a vehicle. Police reported the incident took place around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cave Creek Road and Dynamite Boulevard.

Upon arrival at the scene, first responders found the victim, identified as 37-year-old Michael Hutchinson, critically injured on the roadway. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The 18-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, cooperating with authorities. Moving forward, police have indicated that impairment and speed may have played significant roles in the tragedy.

Investigators are currently seeking to clarify the circumstances leading up to the crash. As part of this process, they will conduct a reconstruction of the incident and await the results of a toxicology report before deciding on any potential charges.
