Bee Swarm Horror: 1 Hospitalized and 9 Stung in Frightening Attack

A swarm of bees attacked several people in a Surprise neighborhood near 175th Avenue and Greenway Road, prompting a quick response from emergency services. One man was hospitalized following the incident.
According to the Surprise Fire & Medical Department (SFMD), the man encountered a hidden bee hive while checking his mail on Monday. The unexpected presence of the hive triggered an aggressive response from the bees, resulting in multiple stings.
Firefighters arrived to find a group of children, aged 10 to 15, riding bikes in the vicinity. As the situation escalated, firefighters promptly guided the children into the safety of a fire truck. Five of the children suffered bee stings, and four firefighters were also stung during the response.
None of the children required hospitalization, as no one was allergic to the stings, and the majority received only minor injuries. The man who initially encountered the swarm was reported to have sustained “a large number of times” from the bees and is currently receiving care at a local hospital.
A beekeeper was subsequently called to manage the hive and ensure the area was safe. Further details regarding the incident remain limited as authorities continue to investigate.
This is a developing story with updates expected as more information becomes available.
