AZPM debuts new Friday roundtable show on TV, radio & streaming

Arizona Public Media has launched a new Friday roundtable program titled “The Press Room,” which airs on TV, radio, and online streaming platforms. The show is scheduled for Friday evenings at 8:30 p.m. on PBS 6 and NPR affiliate KUAZ, 89.1 FM/1550 AM.

Steve Goldstein, who previously spent 25 years at KJZZ in Maricopa County, will serve as the program’s moderator. Goldstein gained recognition as the host of the morning show “The Show” before departing from the station in 2022.

The inaugural episode, which premiered on September 6, featured notable guests including Tucson Sentinel’s government and politics reporter Jim Nintzel, Arizona Luminaria correspondent John Washington, and Arizona Public Media news director Christopher Conover. The discussion focused on key topics such as the upcoming Pima County Sheriff race, polling around Prop 314—an immigration-related referendum—and Governor Katie Hobbs’ recent engagement in Cochise County addressing water issues. Additionally, they analyzed GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s recent visit to Phoenix.
