ASU dominates Iowa State in Big 12 Championship win

ARLINGTON, Texas — Arizona State University (ASU) showcased a commanding performance, defeating Iowa State 45-19 to clinch the Big 12 Championship. The Sun Devils established control early in the game with a 32-yard field goal.

Iowa State initially responded with a three-yard touchdown pass from Rocco Becht to Carson Hansen. However, ASU quickly answered back. Quarterback Sam Leavitt scored the Sun Devils’ first touchdown via a three-yard run before the quarter concluded.

The second quarter saw Iowa State score a 36-yard field goal, but Cam Skattebo stole the spotlight by rushing for two touchdowns, solidifying ASU’s lead.

The second half commenced with ASU’s offensive prowess, where they executed three consecutive scoring drives. Xavier Guillory caught two touchdown passes, while Skattebo added a third score with a 33-yard reception.

Iowa State managed to get on the board first in the fourth quarter with a 24-yard field goal. However, the situation turned tense when quarterback Becht left the game after a hard hit from ASU’s Shamari Simmons, who was subsequently ejected for targeting.

Becht later returned, leading Iowa State to a touchdown with a 25-yard pass to Jalin Noel, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
