Arrest made in connection with stabbing in Denver that left Arizona flight attendant dead

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants has confirmed the tragic death of Celinda Levno, a flight attendant from Phoenix, following a stabbing incident in Denver.

Authorities report that Levno was killed and two others injured during a stabbing spree on Saturday evening at the 16th Street Mall, a bustling pedestrian area in downtown Denver. Additionally, a separate stabbing incident in the same region on Sunday night resulted in another fatality.

While Denver police have not publicly identified the victims, Levno’s family recognized her as the deceased. American Airlines, her employer, also confirmed the news shortly thereafter.

The Denver Police Department took to social media to announce the arrest of 24-year-old Elijah Caudill, who is suspected of the stabbings. Investigators are still trying to determine the motive behind the attacks and have not established any connections among the victims.

In a recent update, police stated: “An adult male suspect has been arrested for the three stabbings that occurred Saturday evening along 16th St and for a fatal stabbing Sunday night near 16th/Market Streets. Investigations are ongoing.”

Caudill now faces homicide charges along with additional charges related to the earlier stabbings.

This incident marks a poignant moment for the flight community, as Levno was celebrating her 35th anniversary in the profession. She began her career in 1989 with America West Airlines and had most recently worked for American Airlines.

In a heartfelt statement to the press, American Airlines expressed their sorrow: “We are heartbroken and mourning the tragic loss of our colleague who was the victim of a senseless crime. Our thoughts and support go out to her family, loved ones, and colleagues.”

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants also referred to Levno’s death as a “senseless tragedy.” In their release, they reflected on her love for animals and her unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

Close friend Josephine Dale shared her devastation over losing Levno, describing her as the “most incredible and kind woman.” She emphasized Levno’s remarkable spirit and the profound impact she had on those around her.

This is a developing story, and further details will be provided as they unfold.
